Our Story

History

Stone Keepers Run is part of the original landholding of John Allan and was known as ‘Tooram Run’. Tooram, an indigenous word, means ‘good fishing place’.

Allansford is named after these early settlers. Much of the land where the township now sits was donated by the Allan family. John and Caroline raised eight children and many of the local streets bear their names.

The Federation style home dates from the early 1900’s and sits next door to the original 1870’s bluestone cheese factory.

Subsequent owners of Tooram Run developed the property into one of the most respected dairy farms and cheese producers in the country.

STONE KEEPERS RUN IS

Stone Keepers Run

Wedding styling has long been a passion for Vicki, and she is a believer of living well. She loves her surroundings to be full of thoughtfulness & soul, so Stone Keepers Run became an expression of that.

Murray, an accountant, loves nothing more than to look after people, so Stone Keepers Run is an outlet for that, away from the desk. From maintaining the grounds to being the general handy man around the place, he’s found his little slice of paradise.

A boutique accommodation and elopement venue established by Murray and Vicki Whiting at the home of the Allan Family, incorporating the original bluestone cheese factory. Stone Keepers Run makes the most of its history and position on the banks of the Hopkins River, overlooking the “Tooram Stones”.

Both born and bred in the Western District, Murray and Vicki are the custodians at this moment in time of Stone Keepers Run.
